What to Pray For?

The Bush Family Prayer Shield is a ministry of Florida Prayer Network that covers President Bush and Gov. Bush and their wives and grown children in prayer 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The following is an excerpt from an FPN Prayer Alert in July 2001 when the first call to action was made for the Bush Family Prayer Shield.

Dear Prayer Warriors,
The Lord has put an urgency in our hearts to form a prayer shield around President Bush and Gov. Bush and to include their wives and grown children. Satan hates these families because they have taken a stand for Christ and will try to do anything he can to destroy them. We, as intercessors, are called to stand in the gap on behalf of our leaders. We must pray for all in authority as stated in I Timothy 2:1-4

"Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessors, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for all kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth." - I Timothy 2:1-4

Please take time to prayerfully consider joining this prayer shield. We pray that intercessors all across the world will stand with the Bush families and cover them in prayer. This is not about politics, it is about our prayers making a real difference in the lives of our leaders and their families. It is our duty to pray daily for these leaders and their families.

We are asking people to sign up to pray for 15 minutes a day for these families.

We will list the names of the leaders and their wives and children and some prayer points. We need you to sign up so that we can be sure that we have a 24 hour a day, seven days a week prayer coverage. We feel this is urgent! Please join in this prayer shield and pass this alert on to others. We have seen alerts for the President before, but his wife and children MUST also be covered. Florida is a key state to revival in our nation and we must cover Gov. Jeb Bush and his wife and children as well.

Thank you in advance for being a part and having a heart to pray! I will share with Gov. Bush how many people sign up so that he will know that people are praying for him and his brother and their families. I know it will encourage him as he leads our state.
