40 Days of Prayer and Fasting for Tallahassee
April 2nd - May 11th 2008

“Is this not the fast that I have chosen: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke? Then you shall call, and the LORD will answer; you shall cry, and He will say, 'Here I am.'” Isaiah 58:6,9

We are in desperate need of a move of God in the Capital City. 40 Days of Prayer and Fasting is a city-wide Tallahassee prayer initiative for the purpose of seeing God move and bring transformation to Tallahassee and the surrounding areas. We believe God loves this city and wants to bring a holy visitation to its people. We would like to invite you to join with other congregations, ministries, and individuals across our city to 40 DAYS OF PRAYER AND FASTING FOR TALLAHASSEE, April 2 – May 11, 2008.

We have seen an increase in violent crimes this past year and in gang related violence. Our economy is slowing down and people and businesses are hurting. Abortion rates are up in Leon County and we need a spiritual breakthrough in the lives of people. We are the capital city of the fourth largest state in the nation and we must build a wall of intercession and ask God “to rend the heavens and come down” (Isa. 64:1).

Below are some of the prayer topics to pray about during the fast. Scriptures and a prayer guide will be posted on www.ihoptallahassee.org

You can fast in whatever way the Lord leads you to fast. IHOP's Prayer Room is open weekly Tuesday – Friday from 4pm-2am. IHOP Tallahassee will host an evening prayer service on the Global Day of Prayer [May 11], the day the fast ends, to pray together as a city.

Let’s unite our hearts together to love our city, to fast, pray and believe for God to move in mighty ways. Thank you for having a heart to pray!
